I thought this might be interesting regarding male fertility and modern-day technology:

A study, released by the State University of New York, suggests that the heat generated from laptops can significantly elevate the temperature of one’s scrotum, potentially putting sperm count at risk. While the laptop may be making us more of a mobile technology generation and more efficient in the workplace, when it comes to bringing home the bacon and expanding the family unit - laptops may make male sperm count drop.

To read more about the study follow this link:

"However, it must be acknowledged that all such techniques do in fact interrupt and interfere with orgasm and its full pleasures."

Fortunately, this is wrong.

There are a surprising number of schools of Taoism and a number of different techniques, I don't claim to know them all, merely those from my teacher.

Practiced correctly, some of the Taoist techniques give one the ability to maintain an erection indefinitely and thus have any quantity of sexual intercourse that is desired. They can result in increased sexual vitality giving one the ability (and inclination) to have sex as frequently at 50 years of age as at 18 [I am now 50, I am speaking of my personal experience, not a theory] I did not have this ability when I was 40 years old.

The advanced techniques also give one the ability to have intense long lasting experiences of pleasure which are termed (for want of a better word) valley orgasms or full body orgasms or energy orgasms. My personal experience is that these experiences can last from 2 minutes to 2 hours (so far), and for me they can only be described as being similar in pleasurable intensity to experiences one normally must take drugs to experience. In partner practice, these can result in experiences of complete unity with your partner which are far beyond my ability to describe in words.

In comparison, in relative terms, the pleasure of an ejaculatory orgasm, as exquisite as it is, is much much less. But there is nothing to be undone or reversed - one can, at any time, change one's mind and ejaculate, and enjoy ejaculatory orgasm.

These techniques are not learned immediately, and require a lot of practice (which can be quite fun) and an ongoing meditative practice (which is not everyone's cup of tea). Definitely not as simple as taking a pill or any of the various products indexed to this blog.

The medieval Chinese writings about sperm rising to the brain were, of course wrong, but they were correct that there are interesting things that can be done with the energy from the testes (if you believe in energy).

The issue of prostate cancer late in life is a real question that should be of concern to anyone practicing seminal retention techniques for an extended period of time. There are specific techniques such as the deer exercise which are believed to assist in maintaining prostate health, along with regular prostate massage.
